Jamie Creaghan (August 8, 1995–June 16, 2018) |
Heaven gained an angel when, on June 16, Jamie Creaghan, 22, passed away unexpectedly at the QEII Health Centre in Halifax with his loving parents by his side. Jamie is survived by his father Paul; mother Jennifer (Mark O’Rourke); sister, Jade; brother Robert; nephews Landon and Declan; grandfathers Frank (Helene) Creaghan and Noel Horgan; several aunts and uncles and many cousins. Jamie was predeceased by his grandmothers Sheelagh Creaghan and Margaret Horgan. From a young age, Jamie displayed a fascination with numbers, building 3-D puzzles and music. He taught himself how to play the keyboard as well as several computer programming languages. Jamie excelled in Math and enjoyed his time on the debating team at Rothesay Netherwood School, from which he graduated with his high school diploma in 2013. Since then, Jamie had been working towards earning his Computer Science Degree with a specialty in video game design from the University of Calgary and Athabasca University. In his spare time, Jamie liked to write, participate in Escape Room challenges and play video games, especially The Legend of Zelda. Jamie enjoyed watching professional basketball games and could recite the statistics of all the players, his favourite being LeBron James. Jamie also loved to travel, ski and spend time with his family and friends. A private visitation has taken place with Jamie’s family and close friends in attendance, followed by cremation. A celebration of Jamie’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Jamie’s family requests that donations be made in his name to the Canadian Mental Health Association, the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice.
