Sheelagh Creaghan

It is with sadness and also great love in their hearts that the family of Sheelagh Creaghan announces her passing on Saturday, October 10, 2009. She died, as she prayed she would, in her home with her beloved husband Frank by her side.

During the last week of her long and courageous struggle with cancer, Sheelagh was surrounded by her family children, grandchildren and Auntie Gwen – who came from all parts of the world to share tears, laughter and love with her in her final days. We feel blessed to have had that time with her and we will remember it always.

Sheelagh is survived by Frank, her loving husband of 52 years. Much loved mother and mother-in-law of Peter (Sara), Claire (Marty McConnell), Paul and Ruth (Sue Thomson). Dear sister of Brian and niece of Gwen Skillen. Sheelagh was a treasured and loving grandmother to Jack, Phoebe, and Charlotte Creaghan, Kate, Michael and Jay McConnell, and Jamie Creaghan.

A very heartfelt thank you to Dr. Blackstein, Dr. Topp and Dr. Goldman for all of their support and caring.

Friends may call at the TRULL FUNERAL HOME, 2704 Yonge St. (5 blocks south of Lawrence Ave.), on Tuesday from 7–9 p.m., and on Wednesday from 2–4 p.m. and 7–9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at BLESSED SACRAMENT CHURCH (Yonge St., south of Lawrence Ave.), at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, the Stephen Lewis Foundation, or to Covenant House would be appreciated.
