Thomas Cyril Creaghan

On Thursday, July 14, 2022, Thomas Creaghan of Calgary, Alberta, passed away at the age of 71 years.

Tom was born on August 2, 1950 to Mary Therese McMullen and David Cyril Creaghan at Montreal General Hospital. He grew up on the West Island. After graduating from Bishop’s College School in Sherbrooke, Quebec, he chased his dreams to opportunities found in Brampton, Ontario, Prince Rupert, British Columbia, and High Level, Alberta. Tom settled in Calgary in the early 1970’s, at the height of the Alberta oil boom. He completed a Power Engineering Program at SAIT. In 1985, he began a career with the City of Calgary, Water Services Department, and remained with them for over 30 years before retiring in 2015. Tom had varied interests that changed throughout the years, from collections of LP’s, books, stamps, coins, and always had his eye out for something rare and distinct. He was a unique character who freely shared his opinions and sense of humour. Tom will be missed.

Tom is survived by two children, David and Kara (Andrew Williams), both of Niagara Falls, Ontario; grandchildren Willow and Casey of Niagara Falls; brothers Richard and his wife Corinne of Abbotsford, British Columbia, and John and his wife Brenda Morais of Fredericton, New Brunswick; niece and nephews: Mark of Abbotsford, and Drew, Riley, and Jade of Fredericton.

Tom is predeceased by his father David Cyril Creaghan, mother Mary Therese McMullen, and brother Mark Henry.
