Andrew Alexander Picot

A bright light has been dimmed. Andrew Alexander Picot died suddenly by accident on July 16, 2019. He was 19 years old.

“Peeks” gave his all to everything – sports, school, family and friends. He was loud, funny, full of life and joy. A graduate of Sackville High, he excelled academically and was an accomplished and respected hockey player having played forward for the Sackville Blazers, Valley Wildcats, Halifax MacDonald’s and Sackville Minor Hockey. He was a member of numerous other hockey teams and played high school volleyball and football. A natural athlete, he basically tried anything that meant he could run, jump, throw a ball or just move. Andrew was planning to attend college in the fall. He aspired to always do better and inspired those around him to join him on the journey.

Andrew is survived by his heartbroken parents Jana Cock and André Picot both of Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia and siblings Corey and Allyson (Mitchell Daigle) of New Brunswick, and Nicholas of Lower Sackville. Grandmothers Carol Picot (Fredericton, NB) and Barbara Cock (Quentin Widmeyer, Lower Sackville) and grandfather James Cock (Lower Sackville) mourn the loss of a beautiful boy. He is also survived by aunts and uncles Julie and Ricky Beamish and Jeana Cock (Lower Sackville) and Nicole Picot and Scot Hale (Fredericton). His cousins Courtney and Brandon Cock, and Cloe and Zackary Beamish (Lower Sackville); and Natalie Callan (Matthieu Boudreau) of Fredericton will miss him deeply. He was predeceased by his grandfather Dr. Jules Picot (Fredericton).

A celebration of Andrew’s tragically short but wonderful life will be held at a future date. His light shines on in all who knew him.
